Facilities:

New barn
The facilities available at Three G Farms Equine Center include a first-class barn with twelve 12' x 12' stalls.  All aisles are at least 12 feet wide and are well-lit by overhead fluorescent lighting.
Each stall has individual lights and two electrical outlets.  The stall floors are compacted stone dust (3/8 fines) under rubber mats.  In addition, a drainage tile runs under all stalls.  Stalls have simple but effective locks.
Six of the stalls have individual runs.
The horses in the remaining stalls have private or semi-private daily turnouts in dry lots that are considerably larger than the individual runs.

Each stall has an individual tack closet that can be locked.

There is a wash stall with hot and cold running water, a heated bathroom, and an office.  Three sets of crossties in the aisles are convenient for tacking up.

Arena
Attached to the new barn is an 80' x 120' indoor arena with a clay base, and bark chip footing.  The lighting in the arena is excellent; there are no dark shadows. We have recently installed 5' x 10' mirrors in the arena, so riders and drivers can easily check the position of themselves and their horses.  Because the number of people who have access to the arena is relatively low (never more than 20; usually fewer than 15), arena access is not a problem.

Old barn area
Stalls also are available in two different buildings in the old barn area.  The stalls are clearly adequate but are less expensive because they are smaller (10' x 10' or 10' x 12') and access to the indoor arena is more remote. Some tack closets are available in the new barn for owners whose horses are stabling in the old barn area.

Trailer parking
Adequate parking for horse trailers is provided  with plenty of room to turn a truck and trailer around.  There is no charge for trailer parking.

Working your horse
A quarter-mile 35' wide clay training track can be used to leg up a horse.:

A one-kilometer trail around the alfalfa field is connected to the track; twice around the track and once around the hay field is just over a mile.  A 40-by-80-meter driven dressage arena also is available.

Trails
Nearby is Peterson Park, maintained by the Story County Conservation Board, providing some of the best trail riding in the area:

Access to the park entrance is through our hay field, and then through the pasture next to the alfalfa field.  Riders emerge from the pasture directly across from the entrance to the park.  On nice weekends, the boarders organize trail rides by putting a note on the stable white board: “Trail ride Saturday.  Meet at 10:00 A.M.!”

Two miles away on a gravel road is Soper’s Mill, with driving and riding trails.  Trails at Soper’s Mill are wider than those in Peterson Park.
